Viva Las Vegas

Sunrise
After Sunset

My husband and I went to Las Vegas for the 1st Annual Family Tequila Shoot Off and Final Four Official Holiday Celebration. Y'all are adding that to the calendar, right?

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law have lived in Las Vegas for 8 years and know it well so we had a blast. They are good people and my s-i-l and I know we would be friends, even without the marriage connection. She joined me in India last year--and it was her first time out of North America. I was concerned about her traveling with me but all for nothing. She was great and so was that trip.

I almost flew home Saturday because the depression over my friend dying was so consuming. I stayed and it was hard to get through the day being civil. It is difficult for me to be good in sadness. I just want to be left alone. The thing that helped most was 45 minutes of cardio at a local gym. Guess I needed to sweat out the pain.

On Sunday the guys played golf and M. arranged for us to do a ride along at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway...160 miles per hour of fun. Then we shopped, ate and had drinks here.

Later that night we saw Jeff Beck at the House of Blues. Good Gawd was that an awesome experience. Between his guitar and Beth Hart on vocals (Janis who?) it might have been the best concert I have been to and I have been to many at my age. Unbelievable. We were four rows back from the stage and that added to the whole experience in a positive way

We ended the day by going up to the Foundation Room for a night cap. The second photo above was taken from the balcony. The best view in Vegas, unless you count the view of a great weekend with great people.
