So much fun for less than a dollar

Gurgaon has a new metro system--and if all goes right it will be a huge benefit to the area:  less traffic, greener and more affordable for people who don't have two rupees to rub together anyway.

Viv and I had to go to the mall--a 15 minute walk from the office that is along the new metro line so we decided to take the metro back...thinking the next station was in front of the office.  Wrong.  It was at least another 15 to 20 minute walk the other way.  Not know this until we got on the metro we had an adventure, all for less than a dollar.

Everything is new and shiny--easy to read

We were there mid day so it was uncrowded.  It is well used at rush hour.

India being India the metro has a women only car.  Sometimes it is honored and sometimes not.

Women's car.

And then there was the rickshaw ride back to the office with Viv.  It was the first time I have been in a peddle cab and it was exciting, a rough ride and fast.  You can see the metro line at the beginning of the clip on the left--I was laughing most of the way--some from fun and some from 'oh my god what am I doing'.  Love India.
