The Calligrapher's DaughterThe Calligrapher's Daughter by Eugenia Kim
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Excellent book that is poetically written.  The story was engaging, and gave history of Korea as well as human elements.

The story takes place in Korea, largely during th e occupation by Japan.  It is the story of a young woman and her family--the cultural elements of change.

This book could have been longer--I would have liked to have more story in areas in the later part of the book.

Highly recommended.
