I am liking the whole process of the The Artist's Way and what is resulting from it. I could quit now and have gotten enough return on my time investment, but I will continue for the rest of the time.
Daily, I have journaled. And read blogs of others who are going through this with me. I am awed by the talent that I have met and look forward to eleven more weeks of inspiration and having my thoughts provoked. Thanks.
I am still in England so finding time for my Artist's Date has been easy--I have hours of time by myself to think, and observe, and puzzle over things. Yesterday I walked into town--a two-mile journey of solitude that I enjoyed. Then I poked in shops, spent hours time in TWO book stores, went to four charity shops, and returning to the hotel and finishing A Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion. An emotional read and worth the investment. The rest of the evening was spent knitting (week two, # 9 and 10 DONE) and watching the BBC showing of A Bell Jar and Pleasantville.
No Internet. Now, that was creative.
Today, I went on my second ArtistÂs Date by taking a taxi, train, tube and long walk to the Victoria and Albert Museum. I met a friend (I know, I know, this violates the AD rules but I have been on my own for DAYS so I am doing a reverse AD) that I havenÂt seen in several years. D came into my life from work and we have had several great projects togethertaking us and another colleague between England, Germany and Belgium. Today, we had coffee, talked, viewed galleries, talked, had lunch, and talked until I am dry. We never talk stuff that bores me but what our lives are about and that stuns me every time I see him. I love that he shares his life, and I value the time we have had together. D is a friend. How rare is that?
Old friends. That is part of my Artists Way.
