Flying home is always a good thing, made better by a window seat and sunset.
Following Week Four of the Artist's Way is a challenge--the 'no reading' part is HARD. I have always known how to read, always. It is one of my childhood memories, Dr. Seuss and The Cat in The Hat is burned into my favorite memory bank.
Already today I had to stop myself about eight times--the airport was REALLY a challenge not to read and I do see the value in this exercise. I tend to be in my own bubble when traveling and use a book/magazine to effectively lose contact with what is around me. Flying home, I knit (OK, even Julia recommends knitting which means READING the PATTERN) and listened to the iPod.
Does anybody else find it irritating that we are not supposed to read this week and the first task involves pulling things out of a magazine to help create the environment we want? So not doing that part of it. That is akin to asking a recovering alcoholic to tend bar. Just not a good idea.
