My nana was wonderful. The most kind and generous woman I have known. She would take my cousin Bobby and me for week ends at a time to the beach house in San Clemente and love us in her reserved and beautiful way. At her house in Pasadena she always had a drawer with candy in it for us. Treats like Abba Zabba's and Tootsie Rolls. And always soda, cold and ready. It took me a long time to understand just how wonderful she was to me.
She was born in Canada on 6 August 1888 and married my Papa late in life. I have her driver's license from 11 August 1949 and her height is listed as 5'5.5". To me she was a towering pillar of love and strength.
Thank you, Nana, for all you did for me. I love you.
